There is something inherently captivating about a pearl. Unlike other gemstones that require cutting and polishing, a pearl is created naturally over time, a treasure brought to life by the sea. For centuries, Bahrain has been a source of some of the world’s most prized pearls, making these rare gems a symbol of the country’s rich heritage and history.
The pearls of Bahrain are among the finest natural pearls in the world, renowned for their distinctive luster and rarity. What sets Bahraini pearls apart is their unique origin, formed where freshwater springs meet the saltwater of the Arabian Gulf. This natural occurrence gives Bahraini pearls their renowned beauty, making them one of the rarest and most sought-after types of pearls.
For the 1920 Collection, we wanted to honor this legacy by featuring natural Bahraini pearls. Each pearl in the collection is not only a symbol of purity and beauty but a tribute to Bahrain’s pearl-diving heritage—a practice that dates back thousands of years. Bahrain’s pearl divers would spend weeks at sea, risking their lives to bring back these ocean treasures.
By incorporating these pearls into our designs, we aim to carry forward a piece of Bahrain’s history, celebrating the island’s longstanding tradition of natural beauty and craftsmanship. Each piece in the 1920 Collection carries with it the allure of Bahraini pearls and the spirit of a time when beauty was crafted by nature and preserved by those who cherished it.
