Jewelleries have become a staple in our everyday fashion. Be it a statement piece you wear just once in a while, or a simple one you wear everyday but never take off, it is important that you take the time to regularly clean your jewelleries.
Gold jewelleries, especially those that you wear regularly, are prone to dull, tarnish or decolorate. This is due to several factors such as the continued exposure to sunlight which tends to have a bleaching effect and dulls the gold, or build-up of oils, dust, sweat and such that it gets exposed to overtime. Dirt is so abrasive that it can slowly wear down the structural component of the jewellery resulting to loose pieces, discoloration or tarnished metal.
Cleaning your jewelleries regularly not only keeps the lustre, but also helps in making sure the jewellery stays in good condition and last as long as possible.

-
Fill a small bowl with warm water. Add a couple of drops of liquid soap and swish to mix in the soap thoroughly.
-
It is best to clean only one or two pieces of gold jewelry to prevent the pieces from scratching.
-
Add the gold jewelry and let it soak for at least 20 minutes. In time, the liquid soap will break down any grease on the surface.
-
Give a light scrubbing with a very soft-bristled brush, such as an old soft toothbrush or jeweler's brush or cotton bud.
-
Rinse the gold jewelry with plain water and use a soft cotton cloth to buff the piece dry.
How to untangle gold chain
-
Lay your necklace on a flat surface, where the non-tangled part is safe from further entanglement.
-
Spray your necklace with warm water to loosen the chain.
-
You can use a small, thin tool like a sewing needle to loosen the knot. Gently place the tip inside the knotted area and move it in a circle to loosen the knot.
-
Once the chain is untangled, pat with clean cloth to dry and store properly on your jewellery box.
